Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY:
Site Network Business Development Director identifies, develops, and expands sponsor and CRO relationships to increase clinical trial opportunities for WCG Site Network investigative sites.  This role targets and solidifies preferred and strategic relationships, expands access to studies within existing client accounts, identifies new study opportunities that align with Site Network capabilities, and represents WCG Site Network at trade shows and industry events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.  The accountabilities listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

  • Serve as the business development lead for WCG Site Network by prospecting, qualifying, and selling Site Network services through a consultative approach.
  • Solely responsible for managing all global pharmaceutical and CRO client relationships for WCG Site Network.
  • Target and close specific trial indication opportunities that align with Site Network capabilities in order to optimize revenue opportunity.
  • Coordinate with leaders and SMEs to create compelling and goal driven solutions for clients and prospects and ensure tactical and strategic company goals are achieved.
  • Develop account strategies for assigned accounts and prepare client presentations to the standards of the company.
  • Identify, negotiate, and maintain preferred and strategic relationships with sponsors and CROs remotely or through travel and in-person meetings.
  • Harvest more opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Leverage existing relationships and identify new companies to increase the number of clinical trials available to WCG Site Network sites.
  • Manage client meeting schedules to achieve target performance.
  • Analyze our competitors’ strengths and weaknesses.
  • Coordinate with the legal team in managing contract negotiations – specifically CDAs.
  • Assign and clearly communicate study requirements to Site Network site selection/operations team in order to produce exceptional client deliverables.
  • Provide market feedback to internal teams regarding competitive offerings, prospect needs, and generate product development ideas.
  • Serve as the enterprise subject matter expert for Site Network sales strategy, advising and enabling the broader WCG Business Development organization on Site Network capabilities, positioning, and qualification criteria to drive cross-service-line and cross-functional sales opportunities.
  • Influence account strategy beyond direct span of control by partnering with Sales, Marketing, and service line leaders to embed Site Network offerings into enterprise account plans and integrated client solutions.
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate industry experience

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years sales experience managing business development and selling solutions (products and/or services) preferably study procurement for sites or in the pharmaceutical, life sciences industry.
  • Proven ability to independently source, develop, and close net new business, in addition to expanding existing accounts.
  • Demonstrated track record of consistently achieving personal sales goals.
  • Experience working in a matrixed team-selling environment with subject matter experts.
  • Clinical research site experience is strongly preferred.
  • Executive level client penetration and development experience is essential.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic, negotiation, and communication skills are required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM tool, ideally Salesforce.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 10 to 20%

Pay Range

USD $82,080.00 - USD $127,500.00 /Yr.
